Enlit Conference 2024
From 22 to 24 October 2024, our project partners gathered at the Enlit Europe event in Milan, Italy. This event brought together industries and stakeholders with the shared mission of fostering a more sustainable and digitalised energy future.
As part of this event, the InterSTORE project actively participated in several key activities:
1. Exhibition in the EU-Projects Zone
The InterSTORE project was featured in the EU-funded Zone, showcasing its innovative solutions and contributions to advancing energy technology.
2. Int:net Session
InterSTORE Project Coordinator, Professor Antonello Monti (Aachen University) , moderated an engaging session on collaborative efforts for interoperability, organised by the Int:net project. The session included contributions from project partners Alexandre Lucas (INESC TEC) and Ferdinando Bosco (Engineering Group), alongside representatives from other cluster projects such as TwinEU, ODEON, Begonia, and HEDGE-IoT. During the session, participants shared promising preliminary results, highlighting innovative solutions with significant potential for large-scale impact across multiple sectors.
3. Podcast Recording
Professor Antonello Monti also participated in a podcast interview, where he provided insights into the objectives and impacts of the InterSTORE project. He discussed key aspects such as middleware virtualisation of storage technologies, a technology-agnostic approach, and strategies to prevent vendor lock-in. The podcast is available here.
4. Publication of Two Articles
- The first article, titled “Project InterSTORE: IEEE2030.5 Shaping the Future of DERs,” introduced the IEEE2030.5 protocol investigated within the project. This article, written by Alexandre Lucas (INESC TEC), sheds light on how the protocol is shaping the future of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs). The article can be found here.
- The second article “Energy Data Space Framework” by Ferdinando Bosco and Marcantonio La Franca (Engineering Group), explores the Energy Data Space Framework developed within InterSTORE. This framework will play a pivotal role in accelerating the integration of data spaces within the energy sector. The article is set to be published in January 2025.
Through these activities, the InterSTORE project demonstrated its ongoing commitment to innovation and collaboration in shaping the future of sustainable energy.
