ICSMARTGRID 2024: IEEE International Conference on Smart Grid
At the end of May, during the three-day high-quality IEEE conference focused on smart grid technology conference ICSMARTGRID 2024: IEEE International Conference on Smart Grid in Setubal, Portugal our partners from the Hybrid Energy Storage Solutions (HESSTEC) disseminated the project’s activities.
The partners presented the InterSTORE project’s activities particularly those in WP3 “Dimensioning, Testing and Integration” and WP4 “Multiservice and Flexibility Monetisation”, through multiple channels to ensure maximum visibility and impact:
1) Presentation of Scientific Papers:
Elyas Rakhshani presented two scientific papers that detailed the latest findings within the project. These presentations provided an in-depth look at the progress and innovations achieved in WP3 and WP4, highlighting the contributions to smart grid technology.
The titles of the scientific papers:
Synergistic Multi-Service Operation of Hybrid Energy Storage Systems
Enhancing Low-Inertia Power Systems with Grid Forming based Hybrid Energy Storage Technology
2) Recognition and Award:
Out of the 300 paper submissions, one of the presented papers was selected as the best paper of the conference. The title of the paper is Enhancing Low-Inertia Power Systems with Grid Forming based Hybrid Energy Storage Technology. This recognition not only brought significant attention to the project work but also served as a testament to the quality and relevance of the research. The award garnered additional interest and provided an excellent opportunity to promote the InerSTORE project’s activities to a wider audience.
3) Session Chair Promotion:
By chairing one of the sessions, Elyas Rakhshani was able to highlight the project’s goals, ongoing work, and significant achievements to an attentive audience, further raising awareness among peers and industry professionals. Through these efforts, HESSTEC ensured that the project’s objectives and achievements were well-communicated to a broad and diverse audience at the conference.
Attendees and Invited Researchers:
The conference attracted important researchers and well-recognized scientists from around the world. Among the notable invitees was Professor Kamal Al-Haddad from Montreal, Canada, a distinguished expert in the field of power electronics. The presence of such eminent personalities provided attendees with valuable insights into the latest research and developments in power and energy and smart grid technologies.
