InterSTORE 6th General Assembly

On 4 and 5 June 2025, partners of the InterSTORE project gathered in Porto, Portugal, for the 6th General Assembly meeting, hosted by INESC TEC. This two-day event provided the partners with the progress across Work Packages, refined strategic plans, and alignment on the project’s final activities as it enters its concluding phase.
The first day concluded with a visit to CapWatt’s industrial flexibility pilot, where partners saw PV systems, EV chargers (AC 7.4kW, AC 22kW and DC 160kW), a 320kW/798kWh storage system, and a 7.4 MWe CHP. They also learned about plans to manage distributed storage, including a hybrid ESS and second-life battery system. Future plans at the site include the installation and integration of additional systems, such as a hybrid energy storage system (HESS).
The second day focused on data governance, future planning, and technical exploration. Partners discussed enhancements to the Data Space, and a live demonstration of the new push mechanism was done by Engineering as well as support for IEEE 2030.5/NATS protocols, business model development and upcoming stakeholder engagement activities were also addressed.
Final presentations covered communication strategies (WP6), project management updates (WP7), and planning for the final stakeholder meeting and a final event.
The day concluded with a site visit to INESC TEC’s labs, featuring demonstrations of inverters and controllers integration, communication protocols, grid simulation tools, a physical testbed for real-time simulation, and a hydrogen electrolyser for grid support services studies.
