InterSTORE at IEEE ICSmartGrid 2025

The 13th IEEE International Conference on Smart Grid (ICSmartGrid 2025) was held between 27 and 29 May 2025 in Glasgow, United Kingdom, bringing together a global community of researchers, engineers, and industry experts to discuss cutting-edge developments in smart grid technologies. Organised with the technical co-sponsorship of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES) and the IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS), the event served as a platform to explore sustainable and innovative energy solutions.
The InterSTORE project was presented by the partner organisation HESSTEC, represented by Elyas Rakhshani, through a dedicated technical tutorial. The session focused on the hybridisation of energy storage technologies, advanced energy management tools, and grid-forming power converters, with particular emphasis on converter control strategies and system-level integration.
The tutorial attracted considerable interest from both academic and industry participants, sparking in-depth discussions and follow-up questions that highlighted the project’s relevance. Dissemination was enhanced through interactive dialogue with stakeholders and a dedicated presentation session, ensuring strong visibility for the project.
ICSMARTGRID 2025 featured four keynote speeches and four high-level tutorials led by internationally recognised experts from both academia and industry. The event was sponsored by the IEEE, IEEE IES, and IEEE IAS, reflecting its status as a leading conference in the power and energy domain.
The event significantly attracted attention to the InterSTORE project, positioning it as a key contributor to the advancement of hybrid energy storage systems and grid-forming technologies in the smart grid landscape.
