Description

The variety of EV chargers in terms of their characteristics is continuously increasing. Interoperable software tools can support the aggregation and utilisation of these different types of chargers and enhance flexibility optimization.

In this Use case we will consider a cluster of EV chargers of different types in grid connected scenario and “standalone”. In particular we will consider a combo EV charger with integrated storage and bidirectional power flow, EV chargers with V2G capability and a unidirectional EV charger. These chargers provide different functionalities and require for different interfaces (vehicle and connection to the grid).

The management system collects data from the interoperable software as well as historical data and optimizes application of EV chargers such that the charging cluster provides grid-supporting services and fulfill the charging requirements. In particular the flexibility optimization of the storage system in the combo EV charger when integrated in a cluster of chargers or connected to the grid is to be resolved.
